Biocare Bio-Acidophilus - freefrom probiotics Micki Rose says: Probiotics are the cornerstone of any allergy treatment protocol because of the effect they have on the gut, absorption, barrier strength and immunity. It's a very complex area and I could write reams. The trick is to get good quality, allergen-free ones and take enough – much of the stuff on the market is already dead before you take it, is far too low dose (anything in millions, leave well alone) and is grown on allergen substrates. There is much exciting research going on about which strains are best for which conditions but, generally, I advise at least starting with the two key gut flora strains – acidophilus and bifido – and that's what this range contains. Ingredients: Bulking Agent (Cellulose), Fructooligosaccharides, Capsule Shell (Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose),, Lactobacillus acidophilus (CUL-60 & CUL-21), Anti-caking Agents (Silicon dioxide & Magnesium Stearate), Bifidobacterium bifidum (CUL-20) & Bifidobacterium lactis (CUL-34) Allergen warning: no allergens, vegan, vegetarian, suitable for children, breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women. If you can't tolerate the Bio-Acidophilus, some people have to start right at the beginning again with baby bacteria seeded first. In this case, look at Bifido Infantis instead. Biocare Bio-Acidophilus costs £20.90 for a bottle of 60 veg caps, and can be bought direct from Biocare's website, and from independent health food shops.
