Karolinska Institute find that 58% of 12 years old have suffered from eczema, asthma or rhinitis

A longtitudinal study of just under 3,000 12 year-olds by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm has found that 58% of them had had eczema, asthma or rhinitis at some point in their childhood.

At the age of 12, 7.5% of all the children were affected by at least two-allergy related conditions, and the older they got the more likely it was that they would have more than one allergic condition.

The risk was greater throughout childhood for boys than for girls, and for those will allergic parents.
