Is eosinophilic esophagitis an equivalent of pollen allergic asthma? Analysis of biopsies and therapy guided by component resolved diagnosis. Jan 2018 Allergy tests were performed on over 100 patients with eosinophilic esophagitis. Guided by these results, the patients were treated with elimination diet and/or immunotherapy for personal allergens. 78% of patients showed clinical improvement and this was even greater in those who underwent immunotherapy. Individuals with eosinophilic esophagitis have a higher risk of various atopic diseases such as asthma, rhinitis and dermatitis. This study reports that they are also more likely to suffer from pollen-food allergy syndrome – with one quarter of patients having both conditions. Oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy induces eosinophilic esophagitis: three pediatric case reports. February 2016 Eosinophilic esophagitis is characterized by a non-IgE-mediated food hypersensitivity. January 2016 Clinical Manifestations and Treatment Outcomes of Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis in Children. December 2015 This review summarizes the evidence on EoE pathophysiology and illustrates the safety and efficacy of the most recent medical and endoscopic treatments. November 2015 Allergic mechanisms of Eosinophilic oesophagitis. October 2015 Eosinophilic Esophagitis: Another Atopy-Related Alopecia Areata Trigger? November 2015 Management of Eosinophilic Esophagitis in Adults. October 2015 A review of the evidence linking eosinophilic esophagitis and food allergy. Jan-February 2014 Longitudinal Perspective on Managing Refractory Eosinophilic Esophagitis. September 2015 Validation of a set of clinical and endoscopic features to predict EoE with a high degree of accuracy and allow identification of those at very low risk of disease. September 2015 Scientists elucidate the role of a key molecule involved in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). August 2015 From genetics to treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis. October 2014 Oral immunotherapy to egg results in severe eosinophilic esophagogastroenteritis in 9 year old boy. February 2015 Environmental factors such as smoking, breastfeeding, antibiotic exposure, animal exposure etc not found to be relevant in the development of Eisinophilic Esophagitis. June 2015 Eosinophilic gastroenteritis and colitis increasingly frequent in paediatric patients. June 2015 Benefits of an integrated approach by food allergists, gastroenterologists, and pathologists in themanagement of Eosinophilic esophagitis. August 2014 New, non invasive device to diagnose and monitor inflammatory conditions in the gastronintestinal tract (such as EoE and EGE) given the go ahead. January 2015 Four-food group elimination diet successful for adult eosinophilic esophagitis. August 2014 Reviewof the current literature on the sensitization pattern of adult EoE patients and critical discussion of the diagnostic and therapeutic tools available. February 2014 Invariant natural killer T-cell neutralization is a possible novel therapy for human eosinophilic esophagitis. January 2014 Researchers identify four new genes associated with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). November 2014 Eosinophilic esophagitis in adults is associated with IgG4 and not mediated by IgE. September 2014 The first study to extensively characterize eosinophilic gastritis (EG) found that EG is a systemic disorder that has high levels of eosinophils in the blood and gastrointestinal tract, and has a gene expression pattern (transcriptome) that is distinct from that of a related disorder, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). September 2014 Clinical characteristics and sensitivity to food and inhalants among children with eosinophilic esophagitis. January 2014 Elimination diets versus other therapies for EoE. January 2014 Food sensitizations in EoE patients are mainly caused by cross-reactivity to food allergens after primary birch pollen sensitization. November 2013 Adults with eosinophilic esophagitis should consider a diet change. July 2014 New research identifies upregulation of the CAPN14 gene as significant in the development of EoE thereby opening up new potential for treatment. July 2014 Involvement of the iNKT cell pathway is associated with early-onset eosinophilic esophagitis and response to allergen avoidance therapy. July 2014 Classic IgE mediated food allergy can develop into EoE to the same food. March 2014 Symptoms for eosinophilic esophagitis, or EoE and PPI-responsive esophageal eosinophilia, or PPI-REE are identical but treatments differ: anti-inflammatories for EoE, antacid medications/proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) for PPI-REE.
