New online course teaches people how to prepare for anaphylaxis

A collaboration between Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), the Food Allergy Initiative (FAI), Anaphylaxis Canada, the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and Leap Learning Technologies, has resulted in an online education tool for schools instructing them how to deal with anaphylaxis. This is a the first of its kind, and has been designed specifically for school personnel including administrators, nurses, teachers and other staff. Called How to C.A.R.E. for Students with Food Allergies (C.A.R.E. standing for Comprehending the basic facts about food allergies, Avoid the allergen, Recognise the symptoms of a reaction, Enact the emergency protocol), the course reinforces the facts by testing the user with questions.
